Resources

The Resources area holds additional information that your Instructor may provide to supplement the course material. The Resource Types are FAQs, Glossary, Internet Links, Associated Files, or Podcasts (see details below).

To Access:

1.     Open a course or event: Click My Learning / View Courses and Events in the navigation bar, then click the title of the course or event.

2.      Check the Course Outline. If any Resources have been created for the title you have selected, a Resources link appears at the bottom of the Course Outline.

3.     Click Resources to expand the Resources selection. Depending on the types of Resources that have been created for your course or event, you may see selections for FAQs, Glossary, Internet Links, Associated Files, or Podcasts.

4.     Click the selection for the type of Resource you wish to view.

1.     Click Resources in the top navigation bar.

2.     Click the type of Resource you wish to view (FAQs, Glossary, Internet Links, Associated Files, or Podcasts)

3.     Choose Courses or Events (radio button selection). Courses is the default value.

4.     In the Course pull-down menu, pick a course or event title.

o       If no information has been created for the type of resource you have selected, the following message appears: 0 Records Found.

o       If you are not enrolled in any courses or any events, the following message appears: No Learning Found.

Resource Types:

       FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions

o       A list of questions appears with answers immediately beneath each question.

       Glossary: Terms and Definitions

o       If you access the Glossary by first opening the course or event and then clicking Resources and Glossary from within the course/event window, all Glossary terms appear on one page, with the definition beneath each term.

o       If you access the Glossary by going to the Resources menu in the top navigation bar,click a letter of the alphabet to display only those terms that begin with a particular letter. Click All at the end of the alphabet to display all terms and definitions on one page.

       Internet Links: Links to external websites

o       Click a link to display the external website in pop-up window. The Instructor may also enter an optional description for each link.

       Associated Files: Downloadable files

o       Associated Files can be any type of file that your Instructor wishes to make available for you to view or download (for example, Word documents, Excel files, graphic images, etc.).

o       The file name appears beneath a "page" icon. A description appears beside the icon.

o       Click the description to view or download the file (click Open or Save when prompted by the dialog box that appears).

       Podcasts

o       The file name of the Podcast MP3 file appears beneath a podcast icon (. A description appears beside the icon.

o       To play the Podcast MP3 file directly, click the description.

o       To download the file, right-click on the description and click Save Target As. If you choose, you can play the file directly from your computer or upload the file to an MP3 player.
