Roster

To access:

1.     Open a course or event: Click My Learning / View Courses and Events in the navigation bar, then click the title of the course or event.

2.     Click Communicate at the top-right corner of the page.

-OR-

1.     Click My Learning / Roster in the top navigation bar.

2.     Choose Courses or Events (radio button selection).

3.     Use the Search field to search for a particular title or click the Find All button to select from all titles in which you are enrolled.

4.     Click a course or event title. (The pull-down menu will be labeled Course if you chose Courses in Step 2, or

Roster Overview: The Roster displays the names of the Instructor and all Learners who are participating in a course or event. The Roster includes links to e-mail the Instructor and other Learners in the list.

To send an e-mail the Instructor: Click the Instructor's name beside the Instructor heading that is immediately above the list of Learner names.

To send an e-mail to one Learner:

       Click the Learner's e-mail address in the E-Mail column

-OR-

       Click the checkbox next to the Learner's name and then click Send E-mails in the Action menu.

To send an e-mail to a number of selected Learners: Click the checkbox next to the desired names and then click Send E-mails in the Action menu.

To send an e-mail to all Learners in the list: Click the checkbox labeled All (the first checkbox at the top of the list of names), then click Send E-mails in the Action menu.

Entering a message: A pop-up window will appear for you to add the Subject and Message of the e-mail.
To attach a file:
Click the Browse button next to the Attach File heading (beneath the Message area).

To have a copy delivered to your e-mail address: Click the checkbox labeled Send a copy to my e-mail address (beneath the Message area).

Note:

       To be able to send an e-mail, both the sender and the recipient must have a valid e-mail address in the database.

o       If you do not have a valid e-mail address, you will receive a warning message upon sending an e-mail. An the message Invalid E-Mail Address appears at the top of the e-mail form, and an asterisk (*) appears in the From address line.

        Check your User Profile through the My Profile link at the top-right side of the page. Depending on how user accounts are set up for your site, you may see a field where you can enter your own e-mail address.

o       If the Instructor does not have a valid e-mail , the Instructor's name appears as text only and you will not be able to click the name.

o       If a Learner does not have a valid e-mail address, the checkbox next to the Learner's name is disabled (greyed out).
