Discussion Overview

       Discussion is available for courses only and not for learning events.

       A separate Discussion area is available for each lesson or module of a course. If your course has sub-topics within a lesson, Discussion is available for the entire lesson only, and not for the individual sub-topics.

       Each Discussion message can contain up to 4,000 characters (with spaces).

       The main pages in the Discussion area are the View Threads page and the Details page.

o       The View Threads page displays a folder for each Discussion Thread. Un-read messages are marked by a green dot next to the subject line of the message.

o       Click the Subject Line of the folder to view the full text of messages within that folder on the Details page.

       The Lesson Summary page provides information for each lesson or module on the number of Total Posts, Last Posted Date (the date and time of the most recent posting), and the Number of Posts in the last three days.

       Learners, Instructors, and Administrators each have access to Discussion for a given course. Administrators and Instructors can participate in Discussion and can also modify and delete postings.
